How to use

FAQ
What is EXIF data and why remove it?
EXIF is metadata that cameras and phones embed in photos: the device model, exposure settings, date and time, editing software and often the exact GPS location. When you share a photo online with EXIF intact, anyone who downloads it can read where and when it was taken.
Does removing EXIF reduce photo quality?
The image is re-encoded once. JPGs are saved at quality 0.95, which is visually identical for almost all uses; PNGs are lossless so nothing changes. File size usually drops slightly because the metadata block is gone.
Will my photo come out rotated?
No. Phones often store photos sideways with an Orientation tag telling viewers how to rotate them. This tool reads that tag and bakes the correct rotation into the pixels before stripping it, so the result looks the same everywhere.
Does this also remove XMP and IPTC metadata?
Yes. Because the photo is rebuilt from pixels, every metadata block — EXIF, XMP, IPTC, ICC profile, thumbnails, comments — is dropped, not just the tags listed on screen.
